Navigating the world of community work

I am about one third through my field placement for my studies and am beginning to feel a bit overwhelmed at the task I have set for myself by the end of my placement. I am completing my placement in the office of Megan Leslie, Member of Parliament, who is a New Democrat and has been very active in the world of community organizing and development work prior to being elected.

Essentially I am here to look at the role elected officials have in changing social policy and how they can work with community to make effective change. It would be easy enough to ride through this placement without taking a really critical look at things, but critical reflection is really the point of this exercise. This week my biggest task will be to come up with a tracking system that will prompt some of that reflection.
