Closing in on the gap…

I’ve been feeling a little out of sorts with all of the open-endedness of so many decisions looming. Being forced to make some of them is a relief now that their done.

I have sent my acceptance to the Grad School & School of Social Work at UMaine. I am still waiting on the word from Dal SW Distance Ed, which would simplify things in many ways, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it, next month.

I turned down a great job opportunity, as I just didn’t feel I could commit to it. Working in not-for-profit, you don’t do it for the pay, and the projects themselves sounded so interesting. But I know that most likely I will not be available beyond August. The nice thing is that before I made that call to decline, I found out that my current workplace has been able to offer me an extension until the end of June! I’ll be working on another project with the same Family Violence Prevention Intiatives, and I am very excited about it.

So it’s looking now like, worst case scenario, I’ll have my summer off with my kids before dd5y starts school!
